POLICIES & CONDITIONS

Registration and Payment

To initiate the full Itineraries "Plus" planning process, the traveler(s) (hereinafter "the Traveler") should CLICK HERE to register and make their non-refundable deposit of $390. Registration and payment of a deposit by the Traveler constitute the Traveler's acceptance of, and agreement to, the Policies and Conditions herein.

Upon receipt of the registration form and deposit, Tour Italy, Inc., (dba, and hereinafter, "Italy Adagio"), will send the Trip Planning Questionnaire to the Traveler as an email attachment. (CLICK HERE to see the Details of the Tour Planning process.)

The Traveler's final payment is due upon receipt of an email with attachment containing the day-by-day itinerary and final invoice. Upon receipt of final payment, Italy Adagio will send the Traveler detailed information including, but not limited to, hotel names, web addresses, and contact information; guides' names and contact information; in-Italy transportation names and contact information. If final payment is not received within ten (10) days of the sending of the email with attached itinerary, Italy Adagio reserves the right to treat services as cancelled by the Traveler, as if in writing, as per the Cancellation policy below.

Fees are quoted in U.S. dollars and must be paid in U.S. dollars. Payments are to be made through PayPal, where the Traveler can use their credit card, debit card, or Paypal account. (It is not necessary to have a PayPal account to use your credit card or debit card through them, nor do they charge you for this service.)
Cancellations

In the event of cancellation of Italy Adagio services by the the Traveler, there will be no refunds. The Traveler is personally subject to, and fully responsible for, any cancellation fees assessed by the purveyors of services used in the itinerary or on a tour, including, but not limited to, hotels; in-Italy transportation; special events; museum reservations; and guides.

Insurance

All Travelers are strongly urged to purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance. Also, Travelers over fifty years of age are urged to seriously consider purchasing emergency medical evacuation insurance. You should check with your own insurance agent or online to learn about the different types of coverage available and their costs.

If you choose to use the internet to learn about and/or purchase trip cancellation insurance, you may find the following information to be helpful. Over the past thirty-eight years, people traveling with us have used the following companies and have expressed satisfaction with them: Travelex Travel Insurance, CSA Travel Protection, and Allianz Travel Insurance. The following two websites may be good places to start figuring out just what type of coverage fits you best; checking insurers' ratings and reviews; and comparing the prices for the same coverage offered by different companies.

http://www.squaremouth.com/

There are also several companies that sell emergency medical evacuation insurance, and we urge you to look into this type of insurance as well. The two websites listed above also contain information about emergency medical evacuation insurance.

Please take note: Some insurers allow you to be covered with pre-existing medical conditions (of yourself or immediate family members) if you sign up for the insurance within a certain number of days after making your initial trip deposit, e.g. 7 days, 10 days, 2 weeks.

N.b. The owner/operator of Italy Adagio is not an insurance expert and is not qualified to make specific claims about any kind of insurance or any specific insurance companies or policies. Italy Adagio receives no commission or any other compensation whatsoever from any of the insurance companies or websites mentioned herein. The sole purpose of this section is to give our Travelers some easy-to-use tools for their own investigating and deciding among some of the available possibilities.

Modifications

The itineraries, in-Italy reservations, and guides that Italy Adagio suggests are based on the information available at the time the suggestions of services and arrangements are prepared and are subject to modifications, additions, and deletions as deemed necessary by Italy Adagio.

Responsibility

Italy Adagio does not own or operate any entity which is to, or does, provide goods or services for the Traveler's trip. It may suggest – and at The Traveler's request – may arrange and pay, on The Traveler's behalf, for hotels; in-Italy transportation; special events; museum reservations; guides; and other services from various suppliers. All such persons and entities are independent contractors. Italy Adagio and/or its agents act only as agents for the Traveler in regard to travel including, but not limited to, sightseeing; meals; lodging; guide services; and in-Italy transportation. Therefore, Italy Adagio assumes no liability for injury; death; damage; loss; accident; delay; or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of defect in any vehicle for any reason whatsoever or through the acts or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger or in carrying out the arrangements set forth in their Itinerary; or for any hotel proprietor or hotel service; or for any tour guide; or for any other person engaged in carrying out the purposes for which The Traveler has officially registered for Italy Adagio services. Italy Adagio and/or its agents can accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delay or changes in transportation services; sickness; weather; strike; war; quarantine; or other causes. All such losses or expenses shall be borne by the Traveler, as Italy Adagio fees provide for arrangements only for the time and locations stated. The right is reserved to 1) substitute hotels of similar category, when available, for those indicated and to make any changes in the itinerary or transport where deemed necessary or caused by changes in transportation schedules or equipment substitution; 2) substitute tour leader(s)/escort(s) or guides for the tour leader(s)/escort(s) or guides originally specified, and this is not a basis for Traveler cancellation or refund; 3) alter itinerary or arrangements in the event that it becomes necessary for the comfort or well-being of the Traveler(s), and such alterations may be made without penalty to Italy Adagio. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the Traveler(s). The prices of the provided services in Italy are based on tariffs and exchange rates in effect at the time of their publication and are subject to adjustment in the event of any change therein. Should Italy Adagio or anyone acting on their behalf be required to incur attorney fees and costs to enforce this agreement, the enrolling Traveler(s) agree(s) to indemnify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs. In the event a lawsuit is filed, the registering participant(s) agree(s) to do so only in the County of Cuyahoga in the State of Ohio. The payment of a deposit or any part or full payment for any of Italy Adagio's travel services shall be deemed to constitute consent to the terms contained herein.
