ITINERARY PLANNING
Let me design an Italy trip just for you.
Tell me your vision or goals for your Italian vacation, and I'll personally craft your dream itinerary and make your arrangements. It takes an expert, such as myself (37 years doing this, 10 years living in Italy, and 35 years teaching and writing about ancient, medieval and Renaissance Italy), to design your once-in-a-lifetime Italy experience. You tell me your ideas for your time in Italy, and then I'll flesh it out and make it all come to life! Your Day-By-Day Itinerary I'll prepare your day-by-day Itinerary, and each day will present at least one structured activity to help make this a trip you'll treasure forever. This could be a walking tour in Florence, including a viewing of Michelangelo's David; a walk through the Valley of the Temples (7 of them!) in Agrigento (Sicily); a private cooking lesson with a master chef in Tuscany; a private tour of Pompeii; and much, much more. Exclusive Options And we have many, many truly wonderful, genuinely unique options to offer you, depending on where your travels take you and what your interests are. Here's a small sampling: a visit to a lavish 18th-century royal palace rivaling Versailles; an exclusive after-hours tour of the Vatican Museums, including Michelangelo's incredible frescoes in the Sistine Chapel; a hot-air balloon ride over the Tuscan countryside at sunrise; attending a traditional local festival celebrating the wine harvest, or the town's patron saint, or the gathering of porcini mushrooms; a private sight-seeing boat excursion along the awe-inspiring Amalfi Coast or around the legendary Isle of Capri; a private visit to one of Italy's finest late-Renaissance gardens. More than the Itinerary Your itinerary will include the finest accommodations that fit your budget, and I'll suggest our finest local tour guides (all of them experts and excellent English speakers). I'll also suggest various means of transportation to choose from. Maybe you would like a speedy train ride (about 1½ hours) to get from Florence to Rome; or you might prefer a private limousine (or to drive a rental car yourself) (about 3½ hours driving time) so you can enjoy the Tuscan countryside and stop along the way in Orvieto, or Assisi, or an off-the-beaten-path Tuscan village for lunch and a bit of sight-seeing . I'll present your custom-made itinerary, including suggestions for options – some famous, some unavailable to the average tourist, some off the beaten track. |
