4½ Days on the Amalfi Coast*
4 nights in Minori, a charming, relaxing little town with a population of just 2,900. It's got interesting little shops, relaxing seaside cafes, to-write-home-about gelati, and excellent restaurants. What Minori "lacks" is the heavy foreign tourism that plagues the better known towns on the coast. Minori's central location makes it the perfect jumping-off spot for all that we will see and do during our stay, and during free time, you can take a short ferry ride to enjoy a refreshing limoncello in Positano or the nearby town of Amalfi.
The Isle of Capri, so noted for its beauty since ancient times that the Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius chose to build vacation villas here. We'll get to Capri by ferry from Minori, have our own private boat excursion around the island, and then enjoy a private guided tour.
Paestum* – Founded by ancient Greeks in the 7th century B.C.E., Paestum has 3 Greek temples built between 600 B.C.E. and 450 B.C.E., one of which is considered the most perfect and beautiful Doric temple in existence anywhere. (It's also at the heart of mozzerella country and has the freshest, most flavorful insalata caprese you could possibly imagine!)
Ravello* – Situated 2,000 feet above sea level on the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is one of the reasons that the Amalfi Coast is so incredibly beautiful. You may not want to leave when you visit the medieval-Saracen Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone; each of them has gardens offering breathtaking aerial vistas of the Amalfi Coast and the glistening Mediterranean Sea.

4 Days in Naples*
Pompeii* – On our way to Naples, we will have a private tour of the most famous archeological site of the ancient Roman world. We’ll visit the ancient forum, with its temples, law court, and food market. We’ll also visit some homes of the wealthy and the quarters where the slaves slept and worshipped their own gods. The next day, in Naples, we'll enjoy a private guided tour of The National Archeological Museum of Naples – the truly incredible repository of art and artifacts from the towns buried by Mt. Vesuvius’s eruption in 79 C.E. –– exquisite mosaics, frescoes, and beautiful naturalistic statuary from Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Historic Naples* – A private guided walking tour of the historic center of Naples, representing twenty-seven centuries of human culture (beginning in the 6th century B.C.E. with the founding colonists from ancient Greece). We'll visit the awe-inspiring underground Lapis Museum (ancient remains of the Greco-Roman Neapolis and WW2 sanctuary), the Sansevero Chapel (with Sanmartino's incredibly realistic sculpture Veiled Christ), and Via San Gregorio Armeno (lined with one shop after another where artisans make and sell Nativity figures).
The Royal Palace of Caserta* – This 18th-century marvel was built to rival Versailles Palace. Though we can't visit each of its 1,200 rooms, the ones we will see are as exquisite as they are extravagant. And the immense gardens contain the Bosco Vecchio (Old Woods), the little castle built as a playhouse for the Bourbon princes, the fish pond where mock sea battles were staged to amuse the members of the royal court, the Dolphin Fountain, the Fountain of Diana and Actaeon (a delightfully animated and enchanting sculptural group), and English Gardens.

4½ Days in Rome*
Campo de' Fiori – After a private transfer from Naples to Rome and checking into our hotel in the centrally located Campo de' Fiori neighborhood, we'll have a get-acquainted walking tour of the neighborhood, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and the Church of San Luigi de' Francesi (with its magnificent paintings by Caravaggio).
The Roman Forum*, the Colosseum*, & the Church of San Clemente – No tour of Rome would be complete without the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. And to further enrich your taste of Rome we'll include the Church of San Clemente (3 levels: the 11th-15th century church, the 8th-century church, and 1st–century C.E. Roman apartments and Mythraic cult site).
St. Peter’s Basilica* (Michelangelo's Pietà, Bernini's Baldachino) and the Vatican Museums* (including the Sistine Chapel*).
Galleria Borghese – Our final tour event will be one of the richest – a guided visit at the Galleria Borghese, the early 17th-century "entertainment center" of Cardinal Scipione Borghese (nephew of Pope Paul V). The collection here includes masterpieces by Caravaggio, Bernini, Titian, and Raphael.

Dan – Let me just say that the #1 thing that made all the other wonderful times come true was your first-class planning for the trip. [We] did things that nobody else can ever do – the private concert, the exclusive trip to the princess’s Renaissance gardens and palace, and... just everything! Thanks, Dan. It was a dream come true...
